for an automation company and your boss asked you to validate existing design parameters of a rotating
0.015-m-diameter solid shaft and pully assembly, shown in Figure.5. Ts task can be performed by:
Calculating the maximum torsional stress and deflection angle in the shaft. (P2)
Find the torsional component of strain energy Utorsion: (M3)
Use the torsional Castigliano’s Theorem to evaluate the shaft’s deflection. (M3)
If at point B a groove was made (See Figure) with a radius r=0.00107 m and span d=0.0143 m,
